Listen at the song

The clip of february has been chosen to a local Swedish band called offentlig sektor. This song is new-recorded in the Realtime Recordings. The title could be translated into: "stick-walking" :)

Check the offentlig sektor site by clicking here. Notify that the site is in Swedish only. If you want to sign this band or want more info, then write to this address.

Now, let the whole world know a little more about this band, don't you think they are worth that?

--- Andrea, it's Xmas! ---

Recorded in 1995 in a very small local studio... I was using a 4-channel "portable" tape-recorder in this project.

Feel this clip was right at the moment capture the feeling of Xmas? Can't remember but I think I was using a "capo" on third or fourth fret when recording? ... anyway, else not much to say - it was a long time ago :)

boqvist---

September is the month for the master-guitarist Lars Boqvist. I remember that Lars wrote a song that called "September Lady" (for a long, long time ago) - I think it was in the band Pole Position...? A very great song with nice rhythmic chops... therefore september is now permanent reserved for the swedish axe-man Boqvist... :) Here you will hear 3 different clips (solos) from his latest project...

Lars has previously played in Dizziness, Pole Position, Reptilian and once featured in the magazine Guitar Player. Right now he is playing with Neondaze. If you check my biography you will know more about our first contact...

--- Rhythmic Wonder ---

Example 1 (normal swing) [ Click this for scores ]
Example 2 (shuffle version) [ Click this for scores ]

---

Clips with major inspiration from the soul- and funk-king Stevie Wonder... Here you have a chop that I divided into 2 different swings...?

The chops are played without the pick, just use your hand/fingers instead. There will be more feeling/rhythmic possibilities when playing like this. Perhaps check this video-clip for more info about the "pick-hand-rhythmic-technique"...

The clips are divided into 3 parts... In the first part you will hear the guitar only in half-tempo. In the second part you will hear the guitar and "rhythm-click" in the original tempo. In the third (last) part a temporary song in 2 minutes was created (?)...

This happened when exploring an electric drumset in the studio. Normally you pick the best natural drumset and use it... But what happen if you explore and mix with the presets a little closer? Weird sound comes out, strange set ups like "mixed-whole-band-things" from the little black box... Also random melodies/bass, mixed with cymbals or with the bassdrum... Very fun! All sounds coming from the drumset and no other instruments was used. Strange, or?

Unfortunately the signal between video and sound didn't sync, all the time. But who cares about that? This is not a DVD for selling... It's just a very weird drum-workshop-for-hermits... :)

--- Crucifix ---

crucifix---

Now in times of Xmas I will live up the atmosphere by adding some attitude, spirit of youth and brutal punk from the past! Crucifix was played in several years in the 80:ies and ended up with a final CD... The songs above are collected from that album. The band is no longer excist, but exploded in a secret reunion-gig 18th november this year - just for fun...!

All lyrics in Swedish to avoid confushion... except in the clip 2 - think "the sound-effect" was taken from a German movie :)

Crucifix has a tribute site at myspace to keep up the memories from the past...

The former members of crucifix was:
Ricky Balkert - vocal and bass
Martin Lindström - guitar
Me - Drums
