Building a studio from nothing... Installing a lot of machines, amps and other studio-related stuffs, including all cables in every direction :) But still there was no music... I must start somewhere, so this project is the result of learning all the studio-stuffs.
All songs are at full length and free to download at this page. I will NOT release an album or like that for this project. The songs are only available at this site. Reviews or comments are appreciated, due to the projects' purpose... I mean, this is a test and I hopefully I will learn something?
--- TITLES ---
All songs produced, written, arranged and performed by Patrik Carlsson, except for...
Higher Ground written by Stevie Wonder. All vocals by Mikael Falana.
Californication written by Red Hot Chili Peppers. All vocals by Mikael Falana.
Jibboom written by Steve Vai
Satch Boogie written by Joe Satriani
Talk to your Daughter written by Robben Ford. All vocals by Johan Ekfeldt.
Some notes...
Battlefield (Melodic Travel)
Nice to hear some real drums, don't you agree? My son call this song for the "angry song". This is not the "clay-pigeon-war-version", this IS the panzer WW2-version :)
Higher Ground (Cover: Stevie Wonder)
Great voices with Mikael Falana. This version is perhaps little heavier than the original song, but we can live with that?
High Pitch (Phraseology)
One of the first songs I recorded. It was very hard recording the drums from a long period without any practice at all...
Night Vision (Melodic Travel)
Very fun playing all the instruments... What a difference with real drums. My son call this song for the "nice-angry-song".
Californication (Cover: Red Hot Chili Peppers)
Another great voice with Mikael Falana. I mean, it took 40 minutes from that point he walk through the door into the studio and until he leaved (including warm-up and chatting)... The only person in the world I can imaging copy this is Tom Jones himself, so we're talking Quality here... man!!
Jimi's Tribute (Phraseology)
I'm not satisfied with the bass-sound... But this was a test and the project is over so I must leave this behind :(
Jibboom (Cover: Steve Vai)
Here I tested three (?) microphones at the guitar-amp, with different setups... Hear any difference?
Satch Boogie (Cover: Joe Satriani)
Kick ass! Nice "ZZ-top-on-acid-arrangement" for the comp-guitars...
Still Believe (Phraseology)
A lot of instrument, difficult to mix... Sloppy guitar-sessions and so on... Ok, I must practice more :)
Supernova (Phraseology)
More dynamics with real drums and I'm satisfied with this version, except the "introduction-guitar"... I should use the western guitar for this part... I tested an idea to bend all tones with the tremolo-bar in all directions. It sounds... different :)
Talk to your Daughter (Cover: Robben Ford)
Many thanks to Johan Ekfeldt for the voices... This version is arranged like the original...
